Sparring Class

Ages 5-adults.

Taekwondo and Karate students get class credit towards their next belt for attending this class.

Try your first class for free!  Class is 45 minutes.

In Sparring Class students will warm up with kick drills, practice controlled kicking, practice controlled kicking and punching on a partner, and then play a few rounds of point sparring. In Point Sparring you win a point if you use light contact and kick or punch their chest, sides, or helmet. Once a point is given the match starts again. This keeps point sparring more controlled then continuous sparring which reduces injuries. The last round of sparring however is continuous sparring for cardio and to increase over all fitness. Safety is promoted the entire class.

Point sparring is a great cardio workout and is awesome for increasing your reflexes, balance, strength, and endurance.

Safety Gear must be worn. First time students can borrow equipment but after that sparring gear must be purchased because we do not have enough gear for everyone to borrow it and everyone having their own gear makes set up time much faster leaving us more time to play.
Sparring gear includes foam dipped helmet, hands, feet, chest guard, and a cup for males.
